Cleaning and Maintenance Recommendations (See Enzyme Cleaner Caution Below)
• Wait 7 days before cleaning grouted surface. Note: Limited/spot removal of small stains, using damp sponge or rag as they occur, is acceptable after 3 days of grout curing.
• For general maintenance and/or routine cleaning, dilute one part BLAZE™ Urethane Grout Cleaner with three parts warm water to make a 25% dilution. For best results, mop on diluted cleaner, agitate with a brush or scour pad, then mop rinse with clean, warm water.
• In areas of heavy dirt buildup, allow the cleaning solution to dwell for 1-2 minutes, agitate with a brush or scour pad, rinse with clean water, and extract cleaning solution with a wet/dry vacuum or cloth.
• Never use enzyme-based cleaners or “No-Rinse” cleaners. This will void all warranties.
• Do not use highly acidic or highly caustic industrial cleaners as these will possibly damage grout and tile surfaces.
• Do not use high pressure steam cleaners or other very aggressive pressure washing methods as this will weaken the self-sealing protective layer at the grout surface, allowing the grout to trap dirt and soil more easily.
• It is acceptable and recommended to use any neutral or alkaline citrus-based cleaner at the manufacturer’s recommended dilution levels. For best results, mop diluted cleaner on, agitate with a brush or scour pad, then mop rinse with clean, warm water.
• Mildly acidic and/or bleach-based cleaners may be used to remove some types of dirt and contamination.
• Cleaning methods involving mopping and/or non-aggressive scrubbing machinery is acceptable when using the approved type of cleaner.
• It is important to fully rinse cleaner and remove residual rinse water from the grouted surface so that no soapy detergent residue is left behind.
• For specific questions not covered above or questions about specific brands of cleaners, please contact Surface Art.

Alert/Caution: At this time, we are NOT recommending the use of any enzymatic cleaners for QuartzLock Grout and will not warrant any installation using these enzymatic cleaners moving forward.
The tile industry's customer base has struggled with effective cleaning protocols in commercial environments for years. Different types of cleaning chemicals have been used to some degree with varying performance benefits.
In tile installations today, we are finding an increased usage of enzymatic cleaners in replacement of more traditional cleaning regimens. These cleaners can have a severely destructive effect on epoxy, urethane and latex-containing cement grouts.
Since the full effects of these enzymatic cleaners are unknown, many job failures have been reported. We are recommending that your customers continue to use traditional cleaning methods to avoid potential job failures.
